Key 1
Set Delta Volts

Press key 1 to set the DELTA VOLTS, use the scroll keys to increase or decrease the Delta voltage. When you have selected the value required press the 0 key to enter the value. The default value is 0.18volts.

When a battery is being charged the voltage across the battery increases until it reaches the fully charged state. At this point the voltage begins to drop, this voltage drop is referred to as the negative delta voltage. When the pack voltage falls by the amount programmed in the DELTA VOLTS charging is stopped. The higher the voltage set in DELTA VOLTS the warmer the pack will be before switch off.

Repeak Timer

Repeak time is a programmable time between the end of a charge and re-peaking the pack.

The delay can be scrolled up or down using the scroll keys, when the required value is displayed pressing the 0 key will enter this value. Set a value for the repeak current using the scroll keys, when the required value is displayed press the 0 key to accept it. Then set a delta fallback voltage for the re-peak

If charging is now selected the pack will be charged then rested while the repeak timer counts down to zero at which time repeak of the pack will take place. The default delta fallback for repeak is set to 0.10 volts.

All data in the View Menu is pack data. Pressing the 0 key will display the selected data of all 6 cells. Pressing 0 again will return to the View Menu.

Battery Management System (return)
Pro-Trak is one of the only systems that comes complete ready to monitor each cell in a pack, this allows you to maintain your packs in peak condition.

Heatsink
To dissipate the heat generated during discharge, Pro-Trak is fitted with a double heatsink. To further improve the heat dissipation the unit is fitted with a integral fan.

LCD Display  (return)
This is a 2 line * 16 character back lit display.
The 2 lines allow the unit to display input volts, pack volts and delta fallback on the top line, and charge time, charge current and input capacity on the bottom line.

Charger/Discharger/cycler (return )
Pro-Trak will charge discharge or cycle cells
It can cycle cells up to 99 times in one operation
You can enter a delay between cycles to allow the cells to cool before the next cycle.
You can also connect Pro-Trak to a computer to graph the results or connect
to a serial printer to print the results after each operation.
(
See graph information from the main menu)

Temperature Detect (return )
With the addition of a temperature detect module (TDM) Pro-Trak can monitor the temperature of the cells and terminate discharge when the cells reach a temperature that you decide.

We have found that temperature charging is more reliable as the delta voltages to determine full charge can vary considerably between packs and manufactures.
(
See temperature module information from the main menu)

20 Amp Discharge (return )
Pro-Trak is a true 20 amp discharge.
This is fixed at 20 amps, but Pro-Trak can calculate what the discharge time would have been between
10 and 30 amps from the 20 amp discharge time.

Peak Detect
With it's unique discharge before charge facility Pro-Trak can safely charge Ni-Mh cells (Ni-Mh cells have a faulse peak problem when cold) without false peaking. When discharge before charge is selected a lockout of 1000mA is used to ignore false peaks.

Ni-Mh and Ni-Cd cells
Pro-Trak allows you to program a separate delta for Ni-Mh and Ni-Cd cells.  You just select what type of cells you are charging and the correct delta is used.
